If your builder or dealer uses genuine Mercury gauges and controls when installing the new engine on your boat, the warranty coverage for those rigging components now matches the total warranty of your engine. This means you could have up to an additional two years of control and rigging component coverage – based on the engine purchased.
- Two Lever Remote Control with Separate Shift and Throttle Levers: a. RIGHT HAND (RH) propeller rotation drive unit - While turning propeller shaft CLOCKWISE, move remote control shift handle into full REVERSE position. Clutch should engage before shift lever comes to a stop.
- Single Lever Remote Control – Remove flange retainer screws and flange. Dual Lever Remote Control – Remove three (3) screws and separate port and starboard remote control housings. Remove screws and side cover from remote control housing. Use Triple-Guard® grease to lubricate all moving mechanisms, trunnion pockets, and remote control cables.
- Attach both spring and lever to control handle by positioning shift lever spring over handle grip screw. Push “Up and In” on shift lever until screw boss is located into shift lever slot.
